Privacy policy

This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. CF Copywriting is operated by Derrick Wesson, 3390 Fairburn Rd, Atlanta, GA 30331, USA. We’re the controller of the information described here.

What we collect

• Messages you send us. Name, email, optional phone number and what you write in the contact and quote form.
• Cart and order details. Items, quantities, notes, price, the name and email you give us, and the time you agreed to the terms.
• Your project brief. Business details, audience, goals, links, and any text you provide.
• From Stripe. Payment status, billing details, email and session ID. We never receive or store your card number.
• Server logs. Technical records such as a hashed form of your IP address, used for security and to limit abuse.

Please don’t put health, financial or government ID details in our forms.

What we use it for

To reply to you, prepare quotes, take and fulfil your order, write your copy, send receipts and delivery emails, keep records, and protect the site from spam and abuse.

Who sees it

• Stripe, to process payments.
• Our hosting and email providers, to run the site and send email.
• Contracted writers or editors who work on your project and are bound to keep it confidential.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We use no analytics or advertising trackers.

How long we keep it

• Brief material: 12 months after delivery, or sooner if you ask.
• Order and payment records: 7 years.
• Contact messages: 24 months.
• Server logs: 30 days.

Cookies and local storage

We don’t use tracking cookies and we don’t show a cookie banner. Here’s what is stored:

• Your cart. Kept in your browser’s local storage under the name cf_cart_v1, so it’s still there if you leave and come back. It stays on your device until you check out, remove items or clear it. To clear it, remove the items from the cart, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
• Form and anti-spam tokens. Short-lived values that help us tell people from bots.
• Stripe. When you pay, Stripe’s own page may set its own cookies, under Stripe’s privacy policy.

If we ever add analytics or marketing tools, we’ll update this page and ask for consent first.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email sales@cfcopywriting.com and tell us what you want. We aim to reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, such as order records, for legal and accounting reasons.

Visitors outside the US

We’re based in the US and process information here. If you’re in the EU or UK, we use your information to fulfil your contract with us, to reply to you, and for our legitimate interest in running and securing the site. You can ask us for access, correction or deletion, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site isn’t for children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Security

We use HTTPS, limit access to what we hold, and keep payment card data off our systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t promise otherwise. If a breach affects your information, we’ll act as the law requires.

Changes and contact
