Refunds and cancellations

Copywriting is custom work. Once we start, we’ve spent time we can’t resell. This page says what happens at each stage. It applies to each item in your order separately.

The stages

• Before we start. If we haven’t received your brief or begun work, you get a full refund.
• After we start, before the first draft. We refund the item minus a charge for the work done: 25% of the item price, or $50, whichever is greater.
• After the first draft is delivered. That item isn’t refunded. Your revision rounds are still available.
• Delivered final. No refund. If something needs fixing, use your revisions.
• Items we haven’t started. Refunded in full, even if another item in the same order has been.
• If we can’t do the job. Out of scope, a brief we can’t use, or a conflict of interest: you get a full refund.

How refunds are paid

To the card you used, through Stripe. Banks usually take 5 to 10 business days to show it.

What this page is

These are the only refund rights under our agreement with you. They don’t limit rights you have under law that can’t be waived. See the Terms.
