Hi {first_name},
Thanks for signing up. Quick introduction.
Kiln & Clay is a small pottery in a converted garage. Mara throws, glazes and fires everything herself, and every mug, bowl and planter goes through the same eleven steps before it gets a box and a handful of tissue paper. Nothing comes out of a factory. That’s why we usually have only a few dozen of any one piece.
It’s also why two mugs from the same batch never match. The glaze pools in a different place, a thumbprint lands somewhere new. We think that’s the point. If you wanted identical, there’s a shop for that.
Here’s what’s coming over the next week, so nothing surprises you:
- Thursday:
- how we glaze, and why the colors change in the kiln.
- Sunday:
- how to look after your pieces so they last.
- Tuesday:
- a thank-you, with a discount code you can actually use.
Until then, here’s what just came out of the kiln.

One practical thing. If anything ever arrives chipped or cracked, reply to this email with a photo. A real person reads it, and we’ll sort it out.

P.S. Reply and tell us what you drink your coffee out of right now. We read every answer.
We wrote this to show style and structure. It isn’t for a real client and shows no real results.
The brief this answers
A small pottery shop gets new subscribers and says nothing to them for two weeks. Write the first email of a four-email welcome, sent the moment someone signs up.
How this was made
We wrote the first email of four to do one job: sound like the maker, set up the next three emails, and give people a reason to reply. We left out the discount until email 4 on purpose. All names, details and the shop are made up.
